Augmentin is used to treat infections over the respiratory tracts, lungs, tissue, skin, bone, joints, urogenital tract, and others. It contains Potassium clavulanate and Amoxicillin trihydrate which help in killing and inhibiting the multiplication of bacteria inside the body. Augmentin is commonly used to treat respiratory tract infection but it also has different indications such as lung infection, tissue infection, skin infection, bony infection, joint infection, ear infection, sinus infection, urogenital infection, and pneumonia.
